Opportunities
With a strong commitment to professional excellence, AUEB’s Career Office is always ready to assist IBT students with developing their career strategy and companies wishing to recruit highly ambitious and high potential international students. The Career Office builds relationships between students and potential employers, and provides mechanisms that facilitate collaboration between the two. By focusing on student and company needs, the Career Office creates an environment that provides value to its partners – students, alumni, and employers.
The Career Office offers a comprehensive range of services to students and companies. For detailed information on the initiatives undertaken by the Career Office you may visit the respective sections of the website (Services to Students, Services to Companies, Events).
Internship opportunities
At the end of their studies (8th semester), IBT students are required to work in an organization of their choice for 2 months full-time (40 hours a week) or 3 months part-time (25 hours per week). In total, students will have to complete at least 320 hours of employment. Upon completion of the internship, students have to submit a written assignment related to the company that they have worked for. The purpose of the internship program is to help develop student knowledge (points 1 & 2), skills (points 3 & 4) and abilities (points 5 & 6) as outlined below:
Erasmus+
IBT students will have the opportunity of international mobility through ERASMUS+ program. AUEB is provided with the opportunity to submit applications for funding to the European Commission for participation in student mobility programs for studies or internships, teaching staff for teaching or training and administrative staff for training, as well as in academic cooperation projects with other European institutions within the framework of the Erasmus+ Program.
AUEB’s administrative staff actively participates in its administrative operation, complies with the requirements of the Internal Quality Assurance System, and contributes to the continuous consolidation and improvement of its effectiveness.
AUEB’s students actively participate in the educational process, through regular monitoring, studying, and improving their performance. Additionally, they play an important role in the internal and/or external quality assurance processes mainly through their participation in the satisfaction surveys of the educational and administrative work. Finally, students, through their representation in bodies, committees, or groups, are given the opportunity to participate in decision-making processes and submit their proposals.
In this context, AUEB’s administration supports the University’s evaluation procedures which are coordinated by the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), while encouraging the use of various total quality management tools for the operation of the Internal Quality Assurance System.
The Athens University of Economics and Business has successfully completed the internal evaluation process of the National Quality Assurance Agency for all (8) its academic departments. AUEB is the first University to complete this process for all the departments of the University.
